About us

Who we are and what we do

If India has to innovate, we need to nurture our young researchers, mentor them professionally and provide all the key components of the Innovation Ecosystem. It is important that for the Biotechnology sector we focus on the whole value chain from idea ? discovery? proof-of-concept ? validation ? prototype development ? and finally commercialization. It is important to reach out to the Young Researchers in Universities and these young budding entrepreneurs have very interesting novel ideas, some interesting plans and lots of dreams. They need to be given a platform where their discovery research is completely de-risked, they are given the correct environment, mentored not only on technical issues but also on how to create an Enterprise for commercialization including intellectual property (IP) rights, marketing etc.,. This ecosystem is what the University Innovation Cluster (UIC) will provide. Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Government of India has selected Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore to establish Cluster Innovation Center in Biotechnology (CIC-B). TNAU is one of the five prestigious institutions in the country selected for such unique activity for the first time in the history.

Many reasons to
